Meet Dellendo – “I always dreamed of playing the piano at a professional level”
Dellendo Farquharson of Jamaica was one of the seven winners of a complete copy of our Digital Home Study Course, “The Logic Behind Music”, in our 2011 December contest. We asked Dellendo to share more of his story and the dream that led him to enter our contest. We hope you enjoy reading his response as much as we did!
I have been playing guitar for a few years. However, growing up, I always wanted to play the piano. I never had a keyboard or piano to try and play until about three years ago, when I finished University and started working [to] buy a digital piano… I have spent thousands of dollars trying to get the right training but nothing works well. I have not found a book to break all the chords or scales down and show me how to harmonize various scales with chords.
I remember coming across the PianoEncyclopedia webpage for the first time… To me this is what I have been looking for over the years.
I have just started music at the Edna Manly College of music and I am positive that what PianoEncyclopedia has to offer will give me an edge above my fellow classmates. I am sure my fellow classmates will be intimidated with all this knowledge I will gain over the next few months. I will proudly say it’s all from PianoEncyclopedia.
I always dreamed of playing the piano at a professional level — today I have seen the path for this dream coming through.
